Growers Organics was founded in 2003 and has been certified organic by the Soil Association since that time. Our small but busy nursery is situated in the heart of the South Devon countryside. Our small but dedicated team work hard and are committed to producing the best organic vegetable plants possible! The nursery is open to the public plant sales between mid-February until mid-September. ( Please note that plants are sold in different quantities to the online shop.)
Please feel free to ring or email us if you would like any other information or advice. We are happy to help if we can.
All our vegetable and herb plants on this website are all certified organic by the Soil Association, and have been since 2003. Here at Growers Organics, we grow all our stock in an organic compost mix of coir and green waste. All seedlings are grown the old fashion way and are pricked out or potted up by hand into their final pots and trays and with the addition of keeping our poly tunnels unheated, we believe that this produces the strongest and finest vegetable plants possible.
How We Package Our Plants
The plants in your order will have been specially selected for you. They are removed from their reusable pots or trays and placed into recyclable paper bags. Then gently layered between locally grown loose straw and placed in to cardboard boxes. Once boxed they are collected by DHL nation couriers and will be delivered to your door by the following day. Further destinations such as the Highlands of Scotland and Northern Ireland may take up to 48 hours.
Caring for your plants
As soon as you receive your order please remove all plants from their box. If it’s possible plant you vegetable plants on the same day as you receive them. If this is not possible simply stand your plants upright in a seed tray or on a plate and water if needed. Planting should be done within 3-4 days. Still not ready to get planting out? Why not pot them on and plant out when they are a bit bigger! Don’t forget to keep all your plants in a light, sunny position until you are ready to plant.
